Jim “Rosie” Rosenberger, 71, of Columbus, died at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at his home.

Rosie was active in the lumber business all his life and for the past 30 years was employed with Bender Lumber.

He was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church, Columbus Moose Lodge and the N.R.A.

A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed softball, bowling and golf.

In 1996 he was the recipient of the Dwayne Grooms Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, participation and sportsmanship as demonstrated throughout a distinguished softball career in Columbus.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Columbus United Methodist Church or Future Farmers of America.

Mr. Rosenberger was born in Columbus, July 13, 1945, to Robert F. and Grace M. Setser Rosenberger.

He married Nancy C. Stearns August 27, 1967. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2016.

Survivors include his son, Scott (Amy) Rosenberger of Columbus; a grandson, Jack Rosenberger of Columbus; a brother, Don (Midge) Rosenberger of Columbus; and a sister, Kay (Michael) Lawson of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
