Drivers injured in accident

Both drivers of a Wednesday afternoon car-truck accident near the Columbus Municipal Airport were taken to the emergency room.

Injuries to the two women involved in the crash at County Road 550N and River Road are described by investigators as non-life-threatening.

However, both vehicles sustained substantial damage, according to a news release from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a Chevrolet truck, driven by Nancy Catron, 66, Franklin, pulled into the path of a Dodge Neon that was driven by Sara Williams, 52, Edinburgh.

While Williams, who was eastbound on 550N, attempted to brake and swerve to avoid a collision, the two vehicles collided almost head-on.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police, as well as emergency responders from Clifford, assisted investigating deputies at the scene.
