Kathryn Joanne Donaher, 88, of Columbus, died at 4:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Columbus Regional Health.

Born Aug. 30, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kathryn was the daughter of Harold James and Kathryn Emily Kitto Porter. She married John Edward “Jack” Donaher April 3, 1954, in Waukegan, Michigan. He preceded her in death April 18, 2002.

Kathryn graduated from Shorewood High School in 1946 and attended Mount Mary College in Wisconsin, DeKalb, Rockford Colleges in Illinois and Beloit College in Wisconsin. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, had worked as a secretary for Cummins Engine Company, a teller for Irwin Union Bank and had taught preschool. Kathryn enjoyed reading, playing bridge at the Senior Center and attended Westside Community Church.

Surviving Kathryn are her daughter, Catherine “Cathi” (David) Staublin, of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Michael (Lena) Staublin, of Wilmington, North Carolina, Benjamin (Kait) Staublin, of Indianapolis, Mary Elizabeth Staublin, of Louisville, Kentucky and Liam Chung Roberts, of St. Joe, Missouri; a great-granddaughter, Abbi Staublin, of Wilmington, North Carolina; and son-in-law, Dr. Ian Robert, of St. Joe, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Dr. Patricia Donaher; and a sister, Sally Kellog.

In keeping with Kathryn’s wishes, cremation is planned with private inurnment at a later date. There will be a gathering of family and friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with a Celebration of Kathryn’s Life at 2 p.m., led by the Rev. Dennis Aud.
