Police find 25 syringes in car involved in road rage incident

While investigating a road rage complaint, Columbus police arrested three people after finding 25 syringes and drug paraphernalia in their vehicle.

At about 3:30 p.m. Friday, police received a frantic 911 call from a woman who said a vehicle was following her and trying to get her to pull over, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officer Ivan Shultz, assisted by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies, stopped the vehicle in the 6000 block of East State Street, Harris said.

Shultz saw a syringe hanging out of the vehicle’s center console and arrested the three inside.

Arrested were:

  • Brent J. Baker, 27, Austin, on a felony charge of possession of a legend drug injection device.
  • Johnathan D. Clark, 28, Austin, on a felony charge of possession of a legend drug injection device.
  • Kayla L. Gambrel, 25, Brownstown, on a felony charge of possession of a legend drug injection device and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
