The Rockpile stays unbeaten

The Rockpile stayed unbeaten in the Columbus Broomball League with a 7-0 shutout of Toyota Tsunamis last weekend.

Ryan Ingalls and Matt Street each scored two goals for Rockpile. Stephanie Pigneri, Todd Houchin and Jon Stitcher all had one goal.

Scott Herron netted a hat trick to lead CCA Kutters to a 3-2 win against Hansons. Matt Psota scored both goals for Hansons.

Flying Zambonis edged Slappin’ Balls 3-2. Shawn Bauman scored two goals, and Bryan Kendall added one for Zambonis. Nick Hill and Garreck Gabberd had the goals for Slappin’ Balls.

Yoopers blanked Our Name is Earl 3-0. Claire Tegl had two goals, and Garret Ehrick added one.

Bowler rolls 299 game

Chris Davis recorded a 299 game and a 792 series to lead men’s action in the Wednesday Night Mixed League.

Lu Kinman and Debbie Perry each had 208 games, and Carolyn Baldwin posted a 559 series to lead the women. Altered Vision Customs had the team-high game (914), C.B.C. No. 2 notched the team-high series (2,541) and C.B.C. No. 1 leads the team standings at 118-50.

Dakota Burke tallied a 298 game and 784 series to lead the Tuesday Night Men’s League. Boyer Machine and Tool had the team-high game (1,226) and series (3,548), and Gray’s Pro Shop leads the teams standings at 124-44.

Courtney Barker rolled the women’s high game (226) and series (623) in the Sunday Night Mixed League. Steve Sebastian had the men’s high game (273), and Colton Castetter and John Zieleniuk tied for the men’s high series (664). Ten Pin-It-Is had the team-high game (956), Independents recorded the team-high series (2,723) and Here We Go Again leads the team standings at 104-56.

Carolyn Baldwin posted the high game (218) and series (562) in the Thursday Ladies Matinee. Pin Seekers had the team-high game (673) and Chillin Out notched the team-high series (1,913) and leads the team standings at 95-57.

BASKETball

Panthers, Spartans split

The Northside eighth-grade girls beat Jennings County Blue 26-15, and the Panthers won the seventh-grade game 25-22. Alaina Young led the Jennings eighth-graders with five points. Kali Thompson scored 15 for the Panther seventh-graders.

The Jennings seventh-grade Blue team also beat Seymour 40-14 and South Decatur 47-24 last week. Morgan Lane scored 10 points against Seymour, and Thompson had 13 against South Decatur.

The Panthers’ eighth-grade girls White team fell to Mt. Vernon 32-28 and beat Batchelor 48-9 in the Clark-Pleasant Tournament, then beat Waldron 39-8 and Oolitic 43-34 last week. Addyson Kent scored nine points against Mt. Vernon, Kennede Gerhard had 19 against Batchelor and 10 against Waldron and Kent and Tori Lee each scored 11 against Oolitic.

The Jennings seventh-grade girls White team lost to Mt. Vernon 27-18 and beat Batchelor 35-27 in the Clark-Pleasant Tournament, then fell to Waldron 37-34 and beat Oolitic 26-14 last week. Lily Ernstes and Megan Schuler each scored eight points against Mt. Vernon, and Ernstes had 16 against Batchelor, 13 against Waldron and 10 against Oolitic.

The Panthers’ eighth-grade boys Blue team lost to Greensburg 36-25 and Seymour 34-23. Jassen Ash scored 14 points against Greensburg and eight against Seymour.
