Six-run seventh sends Olympians to walkoff win vs. Stars

Evan Balzer

Evan Balzer came through with a two-run walkoff single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday to cap a six-run inning and give Columbus East an improbable 6-5 baseball victory against Bedford North Lawrence.

The Olympians (5-11) trailed 5-0 going to the bottom of the seventh before scoring six runs on two hits.

Jackson Watkins went 2 for 3 to record half of East’s four hits. Eli Tindell allowed one unearned run on two hits over the final 3 2/3 innings to pick up the win in relief of Stone Myers.
