Robert C. Eggleston, 82, of North Vernon, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his residence.
He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1978 after 30 years of service.
Mr. Eggleston was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Clarence and Jeanette Taylor Eggleston.
On June 19, 1954, he married Carolyn Berry in Hope, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carolyn; children, Dallas (Patty) Eggleston of Elizabethtown, Terri Eggleston of North Vernon and Jeff (Tammy) Eggleston of Columbus; grandchildren, Christy Amburgey, Marc (Danielle) Eggleston, Matt Eggleston, Jessica Eggleston, Heather Anderson and Chelsea (Ethan) Baugher; great-grandchildren, Katrina (Kasey) Holley, Temprance Eggleston, Benjamin Amburgey, Malichi Eggleston, Naomi Eggleston, Adrian, Quillen and Soren Anderson, Kealy and Charlie Baugher; great-great-grandchildren, Kaden Plaster, Izabella Holley, Alexandra Holley and Kendall Thompson; sister, Doris Grayson; nieces, Debbie Jansen and Karyn Moore; and nephew, Michael Palmer.
Robert was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Earl Grayson.
A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at Garland Brook Cemetery with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.
