Walter H. Romine, 75, of Columbus, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Willow Crossing Health Facility.
Before retirement he had worked as a machinist at Reliance Electric and Enkei. He had also previously owned a beauty shop.
Walter enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was artistic and did lots of woodworking, arts and crafts, welding and wrote poetry.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge.
Born Oct. 5, 1941, in Columbus, Walter was the son of Harry C. and Rose Elizabeth Cox Romine.
Survivors include a son, Elandril Romine of Columbus and a sister, Irene Mccoy of Lake Station.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward Ogilvie; and a sister, Alice Reeves.
Following Walter’s wishes cremation is planned and there will be a get together of family and friends at a later date.
