Woman arrested on drug charges

Staff Reports

Columbus police arrested a local woman on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop on U.S. 31.

Police saw Angela K. Spencer, 39, 1819 Hiker Trace, inside a vehicle on U.S. 31 at 11:53 p.m. Monday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers confirmed that Spencer had three warrants for her arrest and the vehicle was stopped, Harris said.

After Spencer was arrested on the warrants, police found methamphetamine and a glass pipe in her purse, Harris said. In addition to the warrants, she was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, he said.

Spencer is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail without bond, jail officials said.
