Mary Louise Hamilton, 78, of Hope, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mary Louise had been employed at Flat Rock-Hawcreek School System for many years. She was a member of the Hope Moravian Church, where she was the organist.

She enjoyed music, playing piano, singing in the choir and reading. Mary Louise also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Born on Sept. 15, 1938, in Hope, Mary Louise was the daughter of Horace G. and Beulah M. Harris Schaefer. She married Virgil L. Hamilton on July 13, 1957, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2008.

Survivors include children, Gary (Dianne) Hamilton of Charlottesville, Virginia, Laura (Lin) Lynch of Urbana, Ohio, Michael (Alyssa) Hamilton of Thousand Oaks, California, James Hamilton and Steven (Sharri) Hamilton, both of Hope; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Weeks, Susanne (John) Lintz, Caleb Hamilton, Amy (Ian) Hallenius, Ellen and Emilie Hamilton, Megan (Trey) Ford, Kaleb Cox, Marlena, Lee and Ryan Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Abbie and Drew Weeks, Ellie and Owen Hallenius, Sarah and Caroline Lintz, Gabe and Noah Ford; sister, Rosalyn Brough of Mason, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Ian (Tracey) Holder, Greg (Marianne), Shaelyn and Brayden Fett, and Katie (Jason), Claire and Kenlee Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hope Moravian Church with Pastor Andy Kilps officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the service Monday. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
