BASEBALL

Jets sweep Waldron

WALDRON — Class A No. 4 Hauser finished off Waldron 19-1 in a game that was suspended on Thursday, then knocked off the Mohawks 13-0 in Friday’s regularly-scheduled contest. Both Mid-Hoosier Conference games lasted only five innings.

Evan Shaw went 3 for 3 with five RBIs, Sean Miller went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Cameron Hartog went 2 for 3 with two RBIs in the first game. Trey Johnson threw a five-hitter and struck out 11.

Sam Meek threw a one-hitter in the second game to lead the Jets (10-3, 6-0). Jacob Luken went 2 for 3, Brandon Holt went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Aaron Mee, and Meek each had two RBIs.

TRACK AND FIELD

Jets teams take 4th

EDINBURGH — Hauser’s boys and girls teams both finished fourth in Edinburgh’s Lancer Relays.

Southwestern (Shelby) won the boys meet with 136 points to 102 for South Decatur, 73 for North Decatur, 59 for the Jets and 37 for Edinburgh. North Decatur took the girls meet with 124 points to 88 for Southwestern, 80 for South Decatur, 61 for Hauser and 41 for the Lancers.

Hauser’s Grace Hasler won the girls 100-meter hurdles in 16.4 seconds. South Decatur took the 4×200 relay in 2:10.9, and Edinburgh captured the discus with a combined throw of 168 feet, 2 inches and the sprint medley relay in 2:11.9.

The Lancers won the boys discus with a combined throw of 211-0. The Jets’ best finish was a second in the shot put from Pete Trotter and Will Trotter (71-2).

BASEBALL

Panthers top Seymour

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Seymour rallied for a 9-5 victory.

The Panthers fell to 4-7.
