Steven K. “Shaker” Harrison, 68, of Columbus, died at 5:21 p.m. April 15, 2017, at Kindred Transitional Healthcare in Greenwood.

He was born August 17, 1948, in Decatur County, Indiana, the son of Glenn and Dorothy Burns Harrison.

He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Before retiring, Steve was a truck driver traveling all over the country, especially to California. Being a mechanic when he was younger, he always enjoyed working on cars.

Steve was a member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed playing video games with his son as well as spending time with his grandkids. Steve also enjoyed telling jokes to make people laugh and smile.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Survivors include his son, Steven Patrick (Lora) Harrison of Columbus; grandchildren, April, Laura, Stephanie, Draven and Ayona Harrison; a niece, Christina Goble of Columbus; great-niece, Cailyn Goble; and several other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Glenn Harrison Jr. and Jack Harrison.
