Swerving vehicle leads to arrest on I-65

Columbus police arrested an Indianapolis man Sunday on several charges after his vehicle was seen swerving while on Interstate 65.

CPD officer Marcus Clark stopped Jacob A. Golob, 27, near the 70.5 mile marker about two miles from the Columbus exit and when speaking to him noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

A loaded handgun, which Golob did not have a permit for, was also found in the vehicle. Golob was taken to the Columbus Police Department for a certified breath test and provided a breath sample of .124 percent blood alcohol content, Harris said.

He was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a firearm without a license, and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 to .14 percent, Harris said.
