Flat Rock

J.C. Robertson, 89, of Flat Rock, passed away April 29, 2017, at his residence.

Born July 24, 1927, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Drius and Frances (Rose) Robertson. He married Judith (Zeigler) Robertson on Dec. 31, 1952, and she survives.

Other survivors include children, Brian (Gretchen) Robertson of Flat Rock, Kerry (Tina) Robertson of Hope, Jeanine (Patrick) Rosenfeld of Union, Kentucky, Garth (Bonnie) Robertson of Flat Rock and Gwynn (Marty) Yoder of Howe, Indiana; brother, David Robertson of Hope; sisters, Marilyn Mize of Columbus, Ann Campbell of Hope, Rosemary Holder of Waldron and Nancy Jackman of Columbus; grandchildren, Derrick Robertson, Briana Wilson, Kyle Robertson, Nicole Robertson, Samuel Worland, Hannah Sage, Cody Yoder, Jeremiah Yode; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul E. Robertson and Marvin Robertson.

Mr. Robertson had lived in this area his entire life and was a long time self-employed farmer. He had also been a bus driver with Southwestern School District for 24 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. After leaving the service, he drove a route for Omar Bakeries and had been employed as an inspector for Cummins Engine Co. for 17 years.

J.C. was a member of the Flat Rock Christian Church and had graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1946, where he was the last surviving member of his graduating class.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Flat Rock Christian Church with Pastor Brian Ebersold officiating. Burial will be in Flat Rock Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
