Bart Seitz, 56, of West State Road 46, Columbus, died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital after a brief struggle with a rare lung illness.

Bart was a lifelong truck driver and drove for Daily Feed & Grain the last six years. He enjoyed truck driving, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. Bart was also a proud member of Westside Community Church and was a member of the music worship team. His priorities were faith, family and friends. He lived life to the fullest and will be sadly missed.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Westside Community Church with Pastor Dennis Aud officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Community Church and 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Seitz was born Feb. 6, 1961, in Columbus, to the late Paul and Sally Wilkerson Seitz.

He married Elaine Banks on Jan. 15, 1994, in Columbus, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Elaine; son, Derek Gumm; sisters, Paula (Stan) Kirts of Columbus, Peggy (Joe) Henderson of Brown County, Gerri (Trent) Wilson of Columbus; nieces and nephews, Kim Baker Newland, Daniel Baker, Skyler Kirts, Sawyer Henderson, Jesse Henderson, Amanda Raisor, Brandon Wilson; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Bart was preceded in death by his nephew, Jonathan Baker.
