State Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, is asking Hoosier employers to submit duplicative or redundant state reporting requirements through a new online portal.
Small-business owners and local governments can visit iedc.in.gov/programs and select “Duplicative Reporting” to fill out the confidential web-based survey. Duplicative information can include notifications, tax reports, employment data and other statistical data.
It asks users to identify situations where they are required by state law, rule or guideline to submit similar information to at least two state agencies.
Lucas calls the portal an effort to further reduce unnecessary government regulations and costs, while streamlining the processes.
“Redundant state reporting requirements bog down businesses with unnecessary paperwork, so we are reaching out to employers to fill out this survey,” Lucas said. “With a more streamlined process for small businesses, we can better support our Hoosier job creators.”
