M. Kay Bronnert

COLUMBUS

M. Kay Bronnert, 78, of Columbus, died 9:15 a.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Kay was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, July 31, 1938, the daughter of Mirle L. and Leona Helton Nichols. She married Joseph L. Bronnert, and he survives.

Kay was a Realtor for 38 years, many years with Breeden Inc., and lastly as Manager Broker of Referrals of Indiana. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Ladies of the Moose and Board of Realtors. She loved playing cards, going to casinos and having lunch with friends. She also loved spending time with and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Bronnert; daughters, Kelly Bronnert and Karen (Dave) Shepherd, both of Columbus; Craig Calmer of Hope, who was like a son to her; sister, Marjorie Clark of Columbus; grandson, Nicholas (Harley) Shepherd of Columbus; a great-grandchild, Shayley Shepherd of Columbus; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father James Brockmeier officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 9 a.m. until service Saturday at the church. Entombment will be in Garland Brook Mausoleum.
