Flora May Manlief, 100, of Columbus, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Flora retired from Roviar after 30 years of service. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church for over 22 years. Her enjoyments included knitting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. Flora baked beans for the Taylorsville Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years!

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor David Brown officiating. Family and friends may call Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylorsville Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.

Flora was born August 19, 1916, in Bartholomew County to the late Gaither and Laura May McCalip Robertson.

She married Clarence E. Manlief on October 1, 1937. He preceded her in death in November of 1994.

Survivors include her son, Jim (Doris) Manlief of Lafayette; daughter, Brenda (James) Roller of Columbus; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-children; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; daughter, Betty Taylor; brothers, Dale and Donald Robertson; step-sister, Lucille Smith; and one granddaughter.
