District seeks calendar input

The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. is seeking public feedback through a survey as it looks to develop a three-year calendar.

The survey, which will be available on BCSC’s website, bcsc.k12.in.us, and Facebook page starting today, will help the district understand the wishes of the public, said Jim Roberts, BCSC superintendent.

“Basically, we want to know what the community thinks of the start of the school year and the end of the school year,” Roberts said. “The feedback we get will drive the start date and end date of school.”

Roberts also said the final calendar also will help people plan for vacations that may be scheduled during fall break next year.

“We just want to make sure we understand the public’s perception on our calendar,” he said.

Once the survey is completed, the information will go before the BCSC school board for review Sept. 25. It is expected to be voted on during the board’s Oct. 6 meeting, Roberts said.

The survey will be available until Sept. 13.
