Bull Dogs fall to Center Grove

GREENWOOD — Center Grove did most of its damage just before and just after the half to beat Columbus North 4-1 in boys soccer Tuesday night.

The Trojans, ranked 12th in the latest Class 3A poll, took only three shots on goal in the first half but still led 1-0 at the break when Jackson Neal found the back of the net.

Center Grove (6-2) added three goals in the second half, two by Luke Boha and one from John Nystrom, to finish off their scoring.

The Bull Dogs (2-2), who had 11 shots, finally broke the shutout when Jake Robertson beat Center Grove goalkeeper Jacob Cooley from the left side of the goal in the 66th minute.

Overall, the Trojans took 22 shots, but only seven were on goal. North held a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.

Cooley and North keeper Noah Kestler each recorded two saves in goal.
