Thomas Wesley Sullivan, 89, of Shelbyville, passed from this life at 11:44 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.

Mr. Sullivan retired from Cosco in 1984, where he had worked for 36 years.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion and V.F.W. in Shelbyville and a life member of the Carpenters Union.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Marvin Brown officiating.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with Military Honors presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Thomas was born August 4, 1928, in Jennings County. He was the son of Harry Wesley and Edith Belle Bowers Sullivan.

He married Evelyn Burton on January 24, 1951.

She passed from this life at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Danny) Burton of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Emily (Duane) Anderson II, Wesley (Sheila) Sullivan, Melissa Stickle and Amy Sullivan; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Bowers of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie Dean Sullivan; sisters, Grace McGee, Susan Hayford and Alice Cooper; and a brother, Harry Sullivan.
