Elzie Harold Davis

October 31, 1939-August 14, 2017

Harold “Hal” Davis, age 77, was born in Jennings County to Elzie and Fannie Davis. His childhood was spent in a family of four siblings, Joyce Baker (Luther), Ralph Davis, Nancy Thacker (Don), and Linda Davis. They all survive along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Paris Crossing High School, Indiana University Bloomington, Harvard Business School and Herron School of Art. A vice president with Cummins Inc. and a 1st lieutenant in the Army at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, he lived most of his life in Indiana. The last nineteen years he lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Fox hunting on horseback, fly fishing, playing tennis, reading, oil painting and gardening were his lifetime interest and hobbies.

His wife of fifty-three years, Martha, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a daughter, Brooke Davis of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, survive him and shared those interests and hobbies with him. Harold enjoyed good times with siblings, sisters and brothers-in-law, family, friends and two very close (surviving) military friends.

A private graveside service will be held in Vernon, Indiana, on September 23 under the direction of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A family gathering will follow the service.
