Workshop slots selling out fast

Only eight registration slots remain for artist Lisa Pelo’s Oct. 27 to 28 blown glass outdoor workshops, according to organizers with the Columbus Area Arts Council.

Cost of the hour-long workshop, in the 300 block of Washington Street in front of The Commons, is $35 per person and includes all materials. Workshops have filled each time the Clayton-based Pelo, recognized as being part of the select Indiana artisan group, has visited downtown and taught in recent years.

The Oct. 28 sessions, when pumpkins will be made, are sold out. Participants in the Oct. 27 workshops will make glass hearts, a new feature this year. Limited tickets available for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 27 workshops.

At these artist-led workshops, participants will work directly with hot glass in Pelo’s traveling glass-blowing studio.

To kick off the weekend, Hotel Indigo will host an Oct. 26 meet the artist event.
