Reminder: State Road 46 East closing Friday night

Timed with the start of fall break in Columbus schools, the Indiana Department of Transportation is closing the eastbound lanes of State Road 46 into Columbus at the railroad spur on the east side of the Robert Stewart Bridge Friday night.

The road will close at 8 p.m. Friday and is expected to reopen on or before Sunday night, according to INDOT. Louisville & Indiana railroad maintenance crews are making crossing repairs to the tracks,  which are a spur that travels along the East Fork White River toward Upland Columbus Pump House.
