Thomas Myers, Columbus East senior basketball player

Myers led the Olympians with a career-high 17 points and added four rebounds in Friday’s 44-37 win against Columbus North.

His performance last week: “I thought as a team, we finished well in the fourth quarter. I hit some shots, and that was big.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just listen to music and get a good warmup in.”

Favorite drink: “Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Biscuits and gravy”

Favorite book: “Old Yeller”

Favorite class: “Economics”

Role model: “My dad (Dan Myers).”

Best advice: “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Athletics goal: “A sectional championship would be nice.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii, because of the weather and the beach and everything. I think it would be pretty cool.”

Whitley Eicher, Columbus East senior swimmer

Eicher won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 freestyle Saturday to lead the Olympians to a 96-86 win against New Albany.

Her performance last week: “I felt pretty good about my performance. I think all of our team stepped up and performed really well.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Normally, our team listens to the song, ‘You Can’t Stop Me’ by Andy Mineo.”

Favorite drink: “Water”

Favorite food: “Spaghetti”

Favorite book: “The Bible”

Favorite class: “Chinese IV”

Role model: “My parents (Peter and Crista Eicher) and God”

Best advice: “Leave it all in the pool.”

Athletics goal: “My goal has always been to make it to state, or make it to the highest level of competition I can.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Uganda or China. I’ve already been to Uganda twice, and I’d like to go to China because I’ve never been there and would like to practice my language there.”
