COLUMBUS
Carrie Louise Waltermire, 101, of Columbus, died 10:18 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at her home.
She was born in Columbus April 14, 1916, the daughter of John Edward and Mary Ritzenthaler. She married Ray Waltermire February 20, 1932 in Jennings County; he preceded her in death August 17, 2002.
Louise was a member of First Christian Church. She loved housework and cooking.
She is survived by sons, Jack (Barbara) Waltermire of Peru, IN, Larry (Janice) Waltermire of Columbus, and Brent Waltermire of Bloomington; daughters, Linda Simmons of Indianapolis and Vickie Pollett of Bloomington; sister, Ruth Dahn of Arizona; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Don Waltermire; 3 sisters; 1 brother.
Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Hathaway~Myers Chapel on Pearl Street. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hathaway-myers.com.
