Betty Jean Cardinal

COLUMBUS

Betty Jean Cardinal, 90, of Columbus, went to the loving arms of Jesus January 7, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Betty was born September 8, 1927, in Ellettsville, the daughter of Raymond J. and Edna Crum Oliver.

She married Donald Louis Cardinal on April 9, 1954.

She was a graduate of Elletsville High School class of 1945 and had been employed as an inspector for RCA.

She attended Parkside Baptist Church.

Betty loved going to Madison and Anna Maria Island, Florida.

She loved her family and was a loving mother and grandmother.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Cardinal; sons, Charles (Jean) Cardinal and Daniel (Teresa) Cardinal, both of Columbus; a daughter, Gloria (Jeffrey) Voelz of Columbus; sister, Norma Lienhoop of Columbus; grandchildren, Liza (Shawn) Spencer, Clinton Cardinal, Valerie Voelz, Grant (Jenna) Voelz and Mitchell (Courtney) Cardinal; and great-grandchildren, Summer, Sierra and Savannah Spencer, Vivian, Isabelle, Leonidas and Chloe Voelz, and Cameron Cardinal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Lucille Phillips, Mamie Taylor, Violet Powell and Mary Seeley.
