Bob W. Brown, 64, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home.

Bob was born August 12, 1953, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Chester Ernest and Marie Roy Brown.

He married Anita M. Snyder February 14, 1976.

Bob was a 1972 graduate of Columbus North High School.

He was employed at Reliance Electric-Reeves Division and retired from Baldor Electric after 37 years of service.

Bob was also an auctioneer for many years and enjoyed going to sales and dealing in antiques.

Bob was a member and past president of the International American Aerospace and Machinist Union.

Bob was a faithful member of the Flintwood Wesleyan Church where he had served on the church board. Bob was very involved in many church activities and was instrumental in helping with Wednesday night youth activities and was very active with the Lunch Bunch Outreach Program to feed high school students.

Bob had participated in various bowling leagues in Columbus and had been a basketball coach at Jefferson and Schmitt elementary schools.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and spending time with his three grandsons and never missing their sporting events.

Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Anita; his daughters, Heather (Shane) Cowan of Columbus and Kelli (Levi) Miller of Hope; grandsons, Keagan Ernest Wayne Miller, Eli Barton Andrew Miller, and Blake Cassius Cowan; his sisters, Trish (Randy) Hornback of Columbus, Tammy (James) Wuerzburger of Peoria, Illinois, Bev (Mark) Fisher of Indianapolis, and Diane (Tim) Brown of Columbus; a brother, Mike (Stacey) Lucas of Taylorsville; brothers-in-law, Mike Turpin of Brown County and Terry Snyder of Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Chester E. Brown; his mother and stepfather, Marie and Marvin Lucas; sisters, Barbara McGaha and Neva Arnett, brother, Ernie Lucas; his father- and mother-in-law, William and Phyllis Snyder; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Brock.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Wes Jones and Richard Abraham officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Flintwood Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
