Olympians down Spartans

CONNERSVILLE — Adi Minor swept the four individual events and the all-around competition Wednesday night to lead sixth-ranked Columbus East to a 109.45 to 101.0 win at Connersville.

Minor took the vault (9.6), bars (9.65), beam (9.45) and floor (9.75) on her way to capturing the all-around with a 38.45. Taylen Lane finished second on the vault (9.15) and beam (9.025), and third on the floor (8.8) in a second-place all-around effort (35.275).

Taylor Gaskill was third on the vault (8.85), bars (8.9) and floor (9.075). Abby Lewis finished third on the beam (8.4) and fourth on the vault (8.8), bars (8.8) and the all-around (34.475), edging Gaskill, who was fifth in the all-around with a 34.325.

Elise Lasell took fourth on the beam (8.35).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

New Albany ousts Panthers

SEYMOUR — Jennings County saw its season come to an end with a 51-46 loss to New Albany in the opening round of the Seymour Sectional.

The Panthers finish the season 8-15.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Chargers top Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur cut a 12-point halftime deficit to five with three minutes remaining, but North Decatur pulled away for a 74-62 Mid-Hoosier Conference.

Matt Cornett led the Cougars (3-15, 0-4) with 27 points. Lane Lauderbaugh added 25 in his second game at South Decatur after transferring from Jennings County.
