EDINBURGH
Sharon Gosney, 75, of Edinburgh, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She was born June 10, 1942, in Indianapolis.
She was the daughter of Roy and Mary Virginia (Shaffer) Farr Jr.
She married Jeffrey Allen Gosney on February 18, 1962. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2014.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Dorothy Chandler Farr of Edinburgh; son, Jeffrey Allen Gosney Jr., daughters, Vicki (Greg) Gentry, Lisa Shoemaker and Susan (Harvey) Bailey, all of Edinburgh; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Jerry) Church of Franklin; and sister-in-law, Camie Farr of Edinburgh.
She was preceded in death by her mother; husband; grandson, Nicholas Andrew Gosney; and brother, Roy Farr III.
She was a 1960 graduate of Edinburgh High School and a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church.
She retired from Franklin Wal-Mart where she had worked as a department manager.
She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, TV, reading, and doing word search puzzles.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 by the Rev. Sean Johnson at Edinburgh United Methodist Church. Calling will be from 3 p.m. until time of service at 7 pm. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
