Fortune Small Business magazine ranked Columbus No. 74 on a list of the nation’s 100 best places to live and launch a business.

1993

Cummins Engine Co. shareholders gathered in Columbus to hear about the $132 million turnaround which saw a $67 million profit from operations and a doubling of stock prices.

At Bartholomew County Courthouse, the first elevator was put into operation and a new courtroom amplification system and acoustical ceiling tile were installed, all part of a sweeping remodeling project for the 100-year-old building.
