Trey Johnson, Hauser sophomore baseball player

Johnson went 3 for 4 with a double, triple, home run and seven RBIs in a 12-0 win at Edinburgh. He threw a two-hitter and went 1 for 3 with a double in Friday’s 11-1 win against Edinburgh. Saturday, he went 4 for 7 with RBIs in a doubleheader sweep at Trinity Lutheran.

His performance last week: “I thought I did pretty well. I was hitting the ball pretty well, and I just felt pretty good coming into the game.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I’m really focused before each game. Coach (Nate Long) does a real good job of getting us guys focused for the game.”

Favorite drink: “Dr Pepper”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite book: “Harry Potter”

Favorite class: “Advanced PE”

Role model: “My father (Doug Johnson). He’s a well respected man in the community, and he’s something I want to be when I grow up.”

Best advice: “Work hard, and shoot for the stars. If you have big goals, there is no reason you can’t make them.”

Athletics goal: “I’d love to go play Division l baseball somewhere.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Definitely the Caribbean or something like that. I’ve been there a couple times, and I just love the culture and stuff, somewhere I’d like to live.”

Grace Hasler, Hauser senior track athlete

Hasler won both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles in a tri-meet victory against Trinity Lutheran and Crothersville. She also won the 100 hurdles in Friday’s Triton Central Invitational before the remainder of that meet was canceled because of snow.

Her performance last week: “I’m really excited because this year, I feel a lot stronger and I feel a lot more confident in what I’m doing. I feel a lot better because my performances are better than they were at this time other years.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I definitely do a lot of stretching and warm up a lot, and this year has been more about staying healthy and staying fit.”

Favorite drink: “I’m a Dr Pepper fan.”

Favorite food: “A good cheeseburger”

Favorite book: “The Case For Faith”

Favorite class: “Calculus”

Role model: “My mom (Dena Hasler). She’s literally Wonder Woman. There’s no other way to put it.”

Best advice: “As long as you’re the hardest worker, eventually, you’ll come out on top.”

Athletics goal: “I want to get to state in the 300 hurdles.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Mexico at this point, because I’m tired of the cold weather.”
