See the concert up close: Skyview Experience tickets going for $100

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet — until you’ve witnessed this year’s Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Labor Day weekend concert at Mill Race Park via the Skyview Experience.

That’s a new chance for attendees to get a different perspective of the show featuring headlining pop-rock singer Randy Bachman, whose hits include “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” from 1974 with Bachman Turner Overdrive.

The Skyview Experience will be in the park’s elevated stage area, previously used by the performers until a ground-level, auxiliary stages were set up for the shows.

Our Hospice President Laura Leonard said the area will afford “an amazing view of the band and the event.”

For $100 per person, the Skyview Experience will include parking passes, a buffet-style picnic supper, a 70-inch video monitor on the platform and access to private port-o-lets. Skyview tickets are limited, but organizers aren’t yet sure how many seats can comfortably fit into the space.

“We wanted to bring a new element to the concert and we know the Skyview Experience will create a great atmosphere to gather with friends and enjoy dinner all while having a unique and breathtaking view of the stage and the crowd,” Leonard said.

Suzie Singer, Our Hospice’s marketing and planning manager, said the agency feels confident it can fill all seats in the Skyview section — however many there end up being.

Organizers are working on a plan for covering over the Skyview section in case of light rain, she said.

For the past few years, the concert — which generates as much as $100,000 for the nonprofit Our Hospice through sales of T-shirts, food, souvenirs and more — has attracted 5,000 to 8,000 people to see classic rock acts such as former Eagles guitarist Don Felder and former Chicago vocalist and bassist Peter Cetera.

The 2017 event generated a record $120,000 for the cause. Proceeds help Our Hospice in its mission of treating seriously ill patients in Bartholomew and nearby counties.
