Cartoon exhibit opens at Yellow Trail Museum

A traveling exhibit, “From Pencils to Pixels: Hoosier Cartoons and Comics,” opened this week at the Yellow Trail Museum in Hope and runs through Oct. 29.

The display explores the adventures of comic strip characters such as fat-cat Garfield, created by Muncie’s Jim Davis, Brown County savant Abe Martin, and Chic Jackson’s “Roger Bean,” which featured the lives of a typical Hoosier family.

Drawn from the collections of the Indiana Historical Society, the Indiana State Library and other, the exhibit also examines the life and work of the Indiana artists who have entertained and informed millions of newspaper readers.

The Yellow Trail Museum is located at 644 Main St. Its hours are:

» 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday

» 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

» 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
