• Terry and Jane Sullivan of Garden of Grace Gift Shop for repairing our butterfly cages for our 10th annual butterfly ceremony, from your friends at Garland Brook Cemetery.

• Thompson Furniture, The Savory Swine and the Green Egg grillers and volunteers for helping make and sell burgers and brats on Saturday to support Turning Point Domestic Violence Services.

• Dr. Sheehan for being a caring and very knowledgeable dermatologist.

• Nurse Jenny, at Dermatologist Physicians, for being very helpful to me last week.

• 4S Bistro for fine dining and interesting menus.

• Matt at White River Power washing for a fine job power-washing the pool deck and sidewalks, and stripping the cedar deck so that it looks like new.

• the hardworking employee at the west-side Walmart garden center for keeping the flowers looking so nice.

• Columbus Animal Control for picking up the dead bunny promptly, because that was appreciated.

• Becky Church for making our downtown beautiful with all the flowers, from D and D.

• Omar Miller for helping the Baker/Prather family.

• the Columbus children’s choirs, students and teachers for the wonderful musical treat at the choral fest concert on Sunday.

• everyone who organized, sponsored and supported the mayor’s Worth Ethic Certificate luncheon for 200 outstanding sixth grade students who are an inspiration.

Onions to …

• parents who think stopping in the middle of Seventh Street to drop their kids off is OK.

• those complaining about people mowing grass on Sunday when it is none of their business.

• people who don’t understand that the taxes they pay into Medicare and Social Security fund the payments for those currently retired, and are not a savings bank for their own retirement.

• companies that don’t repurpose their own abandoned buildings but choose to build in different towns.

• contractors who never show up as promised for estimates.

• somebody that was complaining about a nonprofit facility but not volunteering to help the problem at the facility.

• fiscal conservatives who have somehow lost their conservatism under this administration.
