Around Town – May 21

Orchids to …

• the Bartholomew County Soil & Water Conservation District and all community members who donated much needed items to Turning Point Domestic Violence Services’ Emergency Shelter during the Tree Give Away Program on Friday, your generosity was amazing!

• all the restaurants doing their best to provide us with safe food by carryout through this very challenging time and to the hope that they and their staffs get back up to full speed very soon.

• grocery and big box store employees for doing a beautiful job picking and loading needed items for me all these weeks, and always with a smile.

• those who realize wearing masks when physically possible is for the protection of others during a public health emergency, not an infringement on one’s rights.

• Todd Rawlings and Rawlings Insurance employees for providing lunch for all of Turning Point Domestic Violence Services’ Emergency Shelter staff on Thursday.

• the people who have left the much needed toilet tissue and paper towels in the little pantry downtown by the church.

• White River Power Washing for an excellent job cleaning our deck.

Onions to …

• a supposed “leader of the people” who needs to step down, because a leader should be for all people.

• people worried about sales to friendly countries when the last administration gave away so much to our enemies.

• people so distraught with one person — maybe you should be in charge.

• those who don’t realize the federal elected official is not really using that “virus prevention drug” — that’s just one of his alternative facts.

• the current administration for leading this country down the path of becoming a Third World nation.

• people who can’t write a sentence without using the word “literally.”

• the county daily ticker tape of doom that doesn’t mention how many people have been hospitalized and how many have recovered from Covid-19, really important data to put numbers in perspective.

• the federal elected official whose policies are all aimed at trying to get himself re-elected with literally no regard to the good of our country.

• this administration’s sale of arms to the Saudis, who are clearly not our allies.

• the people spending money on stimulus instead of on food and universal health care for everyone in the U.S.

• the gym refusing to take any extra measures to protect the health of their paying clients with efforts of distancing, extra cleaning, temperature checks, etc.

• those who think it’s any of their business if the federal elected official, who has the best doctors in the world, decides to self-medicate.

• those criticizing the use of a drug that’s been in use for 40 years for treating the virus, taken by millions without ill effects.

• those who expound on things they know absolutely nothing about, just to hear their heads rattle.

• the federal leader whose example of taking a potentially dangerous drug sets the wrong example for his supporters.

• the federal elected official who said that the U.S. leading the world in the number of coronavirus cases is a “badge of honor.”

• the individuals who downplayed the deadly virus while other family members are on the front lines.

• individuals who downplayed the deadly virus while one family has unborn infants.

• individuals who spread vicious gossip about other family members and then when a deadly virus hits, they expect that family to come to the rescue.

• individuals who get others involved in every financial situation.

• those who tell others what to do and what to wear, if a person wants to believe in something and do it, then let them do it as it is their life.

• the organization whose constant charges of racism are tiresome and politically-motivated.

• the individual who parked in front of a fire hydrant for days on end.

Happy Birthday to …

• Tyson Hawkins on No. 40, from Chalise, Ziva, Taryn, Eayon and Sydney.

Happy Birthday to …

• Marvin Finke, from all his Bartholomew County friends.
