Deputy makes arrest after interstate traffic stop

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested an Edinburgh man in a traffic stop on I-65 on multiple drug-related charges.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Sellers initiated the traffic stop near the 72.5 mile-marker. on I-65 at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, deputies said.

Sellers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle driven by Joshua C. Fuller, 41, Edinburgh, deputies said.

Items suspected to be methamphetamine, marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia were located and Fuller was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where correction’s staff located additional suspected drug-related items on Fuller’s person, deputies said.

Deputy Dustin Newland also found additional paraphernalia in the rear seat of his patrol vehicle after removing Fuller from the vehicle, deputies said.

Fuller was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and trafficking with inmate — controlled substance, deputies said.

He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $78,000 bond, jail officials said.
