Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. switched to online grading, using a new Internet-based software system that gave parents and students real-time access to grades, attendance and more.

Columbus Mayor Robert Stewart was the recipient of the Russell G. Lloyd Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor given to an Indiana municipal official by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, and Columbus Clerk-Treasurer Jeanne Carteaux won the Excellence in Financial Management Award, honoring outstanding achievements in fiscal management.

Columbus Mayor Eret Kline gave city dog catcher Clifford L. Garris authority to “crack down” on the owners of an increasing number of animals running loose and in packs around the city.
