Richard Reynolds Donnelly of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on March 18, at the age of 72. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Richard James Donnelly and Mary Reynolds Donnelly, he was predeceased by his parents and brothers, James and Thomas.
The youngest of seven siblings, Dick grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1961, and Michigan State University in 1965. He earned his law degree from the Indiana University School of Law in 1971 and practiced law for 42 years in Columbus, Indiana, and Southwest Florida. While attending law school, Dick married Kathleen Ann (Taffy) Sheffield in 1968. He was elected as the first full-time prosecuting attorney in Bartholomew County, Indiana. His family called the coastal islands of Southwest Florida home for the past 20 years.
Dick is survived by his wife, Taffy Donnelly; his son, Tom Donnelly; and daughter-in-law Stephanie. He was the proud grandfather of Gray and Finn Donnelly, who filled his heart with love. Also surviving Dick are his brothers, Joseph Donnelly; sisters, Jane Daly, Sr. Mary Patricia Donnelly, Judy Tremel; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
