Jets finish unbeaten in conference season
WALDRON — The Hauser volleyball team wrapped up a perfect Mid-Hoosier Conference season with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-6 win at Waldron.
“It’s a huge accomplishment,” Hauser coach Jeff Case said. “It’s one of our first goals we talked about. Then, we’ll worry about the postseason.”
Brea Metz pounded 11 kills, Alana Owen recorded 21 assists, Tannyr Davis had four blocks, Danielle Giles notched 18 digs and Sydney Schoen and Sydney Zachariah each served five aces to lead the Jets (26-1, 9-0). Schoen added six assists and nine digs.
Maranda Knight pounded seven kills, and Davis had six kills. Lucie Lortz notched three blocks, and Madie Sherman added one block. Giles recorded three assists, Sarah Tedder contributed eight digs and Metz had three aces.
Panthers fall in four against Southwestern
HANOVER — Jennings County won the third set, but Southwestern (Hanover) held on for a 25-14, 25-21, 14-25, 25-17 win.
Carissa Kinney led the Panthers with 26 assists and 17 digs. Sydney Brown pounded 10 kills, Emma McPeek had three blocks and Karlee Madinger served four aces.
Kinney and McPeek each added seven kills. Katelyn Madinger had one block, Mandy Hill notched nine digs and Denza Simpson served three aces.
Cougars overcome 3rd set to take down Hornets
GREENSBURG — Medora captured the third set, but South Decatur regrouped to finish off a 26-24, 28-26, 17-25, 25-14 victory.
Morgan Eden led the Cougars (8-27) with 11 digs and six aces. Braelyn Evans pounded 11 kills and a block, Shelby Branum had 11 kills and Brooke Helms recorded 29 assists.
Helms also added three kills, nine digs and five aces. Morgan Eden notched two kills, Branum had five digs and Evans served three aces.
Lancers sweep Royals to earn 2nd in conference
EDINBURGH — Edinburgh wrapped up second place in the MHC with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-10 win against Eastern Hancock.
The Lancers improved to 22-9 overall and 8-1 in the MHC.
