Joyce A. Rose, 71, of County Road 450S, went home to be with the Lord at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Rose was born December 23, 1943, in Columbia, Kentucky, to Gilbert Roy and Bertie Denton Cox. She married William H. Rose Jr. March 17, 1968, in Taylorsville.
Mrs. Rose worked in housekeeping at various nursing homes and hotels in the Columbus area.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and she enjoyed caring for her flower garden and collecting teddy bears.
Survivors include her husband 47 years, William; children, Arlon (Jody) Barker of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Eric Barker of Orlando, Florida, Kelly (Tony) Ratherford of Fort Myers, Florida, Angela Reinbold of Columbus, Brian (Tonya) Rose of Columbus, Wanita (Dale) England of Columbus, Scarlet Rose of Indianapolis and Rusty (Kelly) Rose of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret (Dennis) McMeekan of Mississippi; and three nephews.
Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Willie Cox.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Marvin Brown and the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
