Four inches of snow turned the first few days of spring into a winter wonderland that melted by mid-afternoon thanks to warm ground and even warmer temperatures.


Cummins Engine Co. announced a plan to reopen its Walesboro plant to produce B Series engines and create 500 new jobs in the next two years.


With enrollments running two years ahead of a 1963 estimate, Bartholomew Consolidated School Board approved an architect’s recommendations for a new Lincoln Elementary School and a proposed addition and remodeling at Columbus High School.
