Joan L. Mullis, 69, of Columbus, went to heaven at 12:05 p.m., June 4, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Joan was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Greensburg, the daughter of Lee B. Veerkamp and Margaret M. Griffin Veerkamp. She married Jerry L. Mullis on April 27, 1968.
Joan retired from Kroger after working in the deli as a manager after 29 years of service. Joan was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour.
Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; daughters, Tracy (Dale) Ault of Seymour and Amy Sornberger of California; sisters, Roberta (Phillip) Cruser of Westport and Carol (Dwayne) McKinley of Greensburg, Indiana; and a grandson, Logan Ault.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Veerkamp.
