Both Columbus high school football teams fell in their bids to advance to state championship competition. The Columbus North Bull Dogs lost to Warren Central 56-0 and the Columbus East Olympians lost to Cathedral 37-6.


Tom Wetherald Jr. opened an under-21 nightclub called Intense on 25th Street.


Bartholomew County’s total assessed valuation for 1966 set an all-time record of $117,750,230, an increase of $3,455,130 over 1965.
