Looking Back – May 1

2014

Ceraland Park opened to the general public for the first time to generate additional revenue. Annual memberships became available for everyone, but Cummins employees still received generous discounts.

1999

Senior Services of Bartholomew County, Area XI Agency on Aging and Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce directed the second annual Senior Expo. Among the expo’s more popular features was a segment on antiques, and the area’s Older Hoosiers of the Year were recognized.

1974

Boy Scout Pack 501 of First Lutheran Church held its annual Pinewood Derby at the church. Kenny Patton won the race, Greg Martin finished second, Mike O’Brien was third and Brian Hall was fourth.
