The Central Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade basketball teams swept Northside on Tuesday.
The Chargers won the seventh-grade game 48-25. Ethan Iainni led Central with 20 points, and Harry Major added 14.
In the eighth-grade game, the Chargers prevailed 52-34. Reese Harmon scored 18, and Tyler Boyer added 17 for Central.
Irish fall to Braves
The St. Bartholomew eighth-grade team managed only four points in the first half and fell 28-19 at Indian Creek.
Kyle Carlson led the Irish with 12 points, four rebounds and two steals. Carter Ward also grabbed four rebounds.
Panther White teams win
The Jennings County seventh- and eighth-grade boys White and eighth-grade girls White teams all went 2-0 last week.
The eighth-grade boys White team beat South Decatur 53-19 and St. Bartholomew 34-15. Lane Lauderbaugh scored 13 points against the Cougars, and Braydan Wilson had 13 against the Irish.
The seventh-grade boys White team downed South Decatur 57-15 and St. Bartholomew 47-18. Carson McNulty scored 20 points against the Cougars, and 15 against the Irish, and Logan McIntosh added 10 against St. Bartholomew.
The eighth-grade girls White team topped Scottsburg 33-32 and St. Bartholomew 46-5. Liz Ertel scored 11 points against the Warriors, and Addyson Kent and Grace Ramey each had 10 against the Irish.
The seventh-grade girls White team beat St. Bartholomew 48-17. Lily Ernstes led the Panthers with 15 points, and Amy Vogel added 12.
Jennings’ seventh-grade girls Blue team fell to Central 28-20. Morgan Lane and Kali Thompson each scored seven points to lead the Panthers.
Jennings’ eighth-grade boys Blue team lost to Crothersville 45-29 and Northside 52-20. Dillon Jackson led the Panthers with 17 points against the Tigers and seven against the Spartans.
Richards, Rockcreek win
Richards and Rockcreek swept their boys and girls contests in the Elementary Basketball League.
Richards’ edged Mt. Healthy 49-46 in the boys game and 50-46 in the girls contest. Rockcreek beat Clifty Creek 44-22 in the boys game and 33-10 in the girls contest.
In other boys games, CSA Fodrea downed Taylorsville 25-18, Schmitt topped Parkside 36-15 and Smith beat CSA Lincoln 33-26. In other girls games, Taylorsville topped CSA Fodrea 32-8, Parkside edged Schmitt 27-24 in overtime and CSA Lincoln downed Smith 30-20.
Bowling
Three share high game
Three bowlers rolled 278 games to tie for the high game in the Tuesday Night Men’s League.
Richard Baldwin, Benji Lloyd and Jimmy Creech had the 278 games. Billy Gray recorded the high series (734). Stuckwisch Farm Market (1,255) and NADS (3,545) had the team high game and series, and Independents lead the team standings at 86-18.
Donn Voyles posted the individual high game (276) and John Zieleniuk had the individual high series (710) in the Senior Men’s League. Tigers netted the team high handicap series (3,081), and Wildcats lead the team standings at 87-25.
Courtney Barker notched the women’s high game (232) and series (627) in the Sunday Night Mixed League. Joshua Hayes had the men’s high game (259), and Rick Wilson Jr. tallied the men’s high series (690). The Yard Barbours had the team high game (966) and series (2,663), and Central Roofing leads the team standings at 72-40.
