Lisa Gray and Mariah Lucas-Georges were selected as the the top employees for 2016 at the Youth Services Center in Bartholomew County.
Gray is the Youth Care Worker of the Year, and Lucas-Georges is the Support Staff of the Year. The awards are voted on annually.
The Youth Care Worker of the Year winner must be someone that is involved with the direct care of youth, while the Support Staff of the Year winner can be an individual involved in any other aspect of resident care.
Gray has worked at the center since 2001, and has worked as a youth care worker in all areas of the building. She also is a shift supervisor and a facilitator for aggression replacement training and Parent Project. Coworkers said that Gray shows diligence, determination and dedication in serving at-risk youth and their families.
Lucas-Georges has been with the center since 2014. She began her career there completing an internship for her master’s degree. Lucas-Georges accepted a part-time position as a youth care worker, then moved to a full-time role in that position in 2015. In January 2016, she became the center’s day treatment program coordinator. Coworkers said Lucas-Georges is solution-oriented and a role model to the youth and staff.
