Imogene B. Thompson, 84, of Washington, Indiana, went to her Heavenly home while surrounded by family at 1:30 a.m. on May 29, 2017, while at Jasper Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 26, 1933, in Loogootee, Indiana, to Henry and Floe (Burress) Krodel. She was a Loogootee High School graduate in 1951. On July 28, 1951, she married the love of her life, the late Brayton Thompson. Imogene was a homemaker. She loved to read, work puzzles, manage her flower bed, work in the garden and can her green beans. She attended Twin Oaks Church of Petersburg.
Imogene is survived by two brothers, Roger Krodel, Placerville, California and James Krodel of Denver, Colorado; three daughters, Marsha Blake (James) of Washington, Indiana, Annette Thompson of Columbus, Indiana and Angela Mickelson of Margate, Florida; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fred Krodel; her husband, Brayton A. Thompson; and one daughter, Diane Ross.
The funeral service for Imogene will take place at 10 a.m. today, June 2, 2017, at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington, Indiana 47501, with the Rev. Tim Miller, the Rev. Robert Thompson and the Rev. Stephen Cassady officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
