The State Street Area Association is hosting a Flag Day Celebration to show respect for the flag.
The public is invited to the celebration, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the America and Roby Anderson Center, 421 McClure Road. A barbecue is from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by the presenting of the colors by Commander John Travis.
The event is meant to recognize and respect the flag and its history.
“Our flag is representative of our independence and unity as a nation, with a proud and glorious history,” said Julie Bilz, State Street Area Association board president.
