Club Olympia wins 2 relays at senior meet

Seven Club Olympia swimmers competed in a senior meet last month at Indiana University.

Rachel Sabotin, Nalanie Cortez, Erica Samuel and Karlie Brown won the women’s 400 freestyle relay; and Sabotin, Olivia Morlok, Brown and Cortez captured the 400 medley relay.

Sabotin placed third in the 400 freestyle and 800 freestyle, fourth in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley, fifth in the 200 IM, sixth in the 100 butterfly, ninth in the 200 freestyle, 13th in the 50 breaststroke, 14th in the 50 butterfly, 17th in the 50 freestyle and 18th in the 50 backstroke.

Cortez placed sixth in the 50 freestyle and 400 freestyle, ninth in the 100 butterfly, 10th in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, 11th in the 50 butterfly and 200 IM, 14th in the 200 freestyle, 15th in the 50 breaststroke and 16th in the 50 backstroke.

Morlok finished fourth in the 800 freestyle, 13th in the 100 butterfly, 18th in the 200 freestyle, 21st in the 50 freestyle, 22nd in the 50 breaststroke, 24th in the 50 butterfly and 30th in the 50 backstroke.

Samuel placed fifth in the 800 freestyle, 20th in the 200 IM, 21st in the 50 breaststroke, 23rd in the 50 freestyle, 24th in the 200 freestyle and 30th in the 50 butterfly.

Brown finished eighth in the 200 butterfly, 11th in the 100 butterfly, 19th in the 50 butterfly, 20th in the 100 freestyle, 21st in the 200 IM, 22nd in the 50 breaststroke, 29th in the 50 backstroke, 30th in the 50 freestyle and 33rd in the 200 freestyle.

Pratt Badve placed 12th in the 100 breaststroke, 20th in the 50 breaststroke, 21st in the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly and 22nd in the 50 backstroke.

Ayush Panda finished 13th in the men’s open 100 butterfly, 14th in the 50 freestyle and 17th in the 200 freestyle.

The following weekend, 12 Club Olympia swimmers competed in the FAST 500 Invitational, an age group meet at Fishers High School. Cortez and Misha Machavariani won High Point Awards in the 11-12 Girls and 10-and-under boys divisions, respectively.

Cortez won her division in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 IM and 400 IM. She also took second in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.

Machavariani won the 10-and-under boys in the 50 breaststroke, 100 Breaststroke, 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 IM. He also was second in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, as well as fifth in the 12-and-under boys 400 IM.

Brady Beyer won the 11-12 boys 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. He also finished third in the 200 freestyle, fifth in the 100 butterfly, ninth in the 50 butterfly, 11th in the 100 freestyle and 12th in the 50 freestyle.

Alison Clauss placed seventh in the 10-and-under girls 100 backstroke, 10th in the 200 freestyle, 15th in the 200 IM, 19th in the 50 backstroke, 21st in the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly, 22nd in the 100 freestyle and 30th in the 50 breaststroke.

Brown finished sixth in the girls open 100 butterfly, 26th in the 200 backstroke, 31st in the 100 breaststroke and 32nd in the 200 freestyle.

Daniella Preston placed ninth in the 10-and-under girls 200 IM; 13th in the 200 freestyle; 16th in the 100 freestyle; 20th in the 50 freestyle; and 23rd in the 50 breaststroke, 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke.

Olivia Morlok finished 10th in the girls open 200 freestyle, 11th in the 100 butterfly, 20th in the 100 breaststroke and 22nd in the 200 backstroke.

Pratt Badve took 12th in the 11-12 boys 100 backstroke, 13th in the 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke, 16th in the 100 butterfly, 18th in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM, and 22nd in the 100 freestyle.

Samuel placed 14th in the girls open 200 freestyle, 16th in the 100 butterfly, 19th in the 100 breaststroke and 20th in the 200 backstroke.

Maddie Beyer finished 16th in the 10-and-under girls 50 breaststroke and 50 butterfly, 17th in the 100 breaststroke, 33rd in the 100 freestyle, 35th in the 100 backstroke, 41st in the 50 freestyle, and 51st in the 50 backstroke.

Sydney Morlok took 21st in the 11-12 girls 200 IM, 34th in the 100 backstroke, 39th in the 50 butterfly and 49th in the 50 freestyle.

Arjun Bhadoria finished 23rd in the 11-12 boys 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke, 28th in the 50 breaststroke, 32nd in the 200 freestyle, 34th in the 50 butterfly, 47th in the 100 freestyle and 50th in the 50 freestyle.

HPW hosts ‘Justice’

Hoosier Pro Wrestling hosted Justice last weekend at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Scarecrow Eddie Felson beat Kenny Cage by count out. Drax O’Brien pinned Dave Da Rave to win the Tri-State title. Kid Thunder pinned JW1, and Tank pinned Buck Sexton.

Abraham Mohamed beat Flash Flanagan by DQ after Flash destroyed him. TJ Kemp battled Shawn Kemp to a no contest. Troy Van Zant and Dynamite Dillen Swango beat the Axemen to win the HPW tag belts.

HPW returns July 1 at Aaron’s Lot for the annual Fill the Shelves canned food drive.
